JAMMU, Dec 12: A Thar driver was booked for allegedly hitting an Alto car near Rotary Chowk area here today.
On the basis of information received from Police Control Room (PCR) regarding an accident reported near Rotary Chowk area around 3:20 PM and spot verification, owner of a rashly driven Thar vehicle (JK02DP-5666), whose name and residential details were not known immediately, has been booked in case FIR number 142/2025 under section 281 of the BNS registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and further investigation taken up, a police official said.
According to him, the accused Thar driver hit the Alto car driven by one Bishan Dass son of late Jasmeet Dass of Pouni, Reasi, who was taking his son to an examination centre in Jammu.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident, he said.
Meanwhile, as per reports, a number plate reading “Danish 05” and some beer bottles were also recovered from the Thar vehicle.
