JAMMU, Nov 18: In a bid to provide social security and benefits of Government schemes to the workers of Ware House Nehru Market, a special camp for making labour cards was held here today.
The camp organized by the Traders Federation (TF) was inaugurated by Yashpal Gupta, senior member of the Federation and president of Retailers Federation.
On the first day of the three-day camp, labour cards were made for 150 workers of the market.
The camp was organized by the efforts of MLA Yudhvir Sethi, who has been working towards providing benefits of government schemes to the needy.
The Federation has taken this initiative to ensure that the workers get the benefits of social security schemes and other government initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Gupta said, “The Modi Government has started many welfare schemes for the people working in the unorganized sector, out of which Labour Card is also an important scheme.”
He said, “This card provides social security to the beneficiary, the Government also provides financial help to the beneficiaries. If a card holder dies in an accident or becomes disabled in an accident, his family is provided with financial help and pension from the Government.”
“The workers of Warehouse-Nehru Market play an important role in ration supply in the state. So, the Federation, being a responsible organization, played its duty and got Labour cards made for the laborers working in its market,” he added.
The camp was held in the presence of Deepak Gupta, Rajesh Bagotra, Bhushan Gupta, Naresh Pradhan, Dheeraj Mahajan, Abhimanyu Gupta and Rahul Gupta.
