Terrorist Hideout Busted In J&K’s Kupwara, Arms And Explosives Recovered

Kupwara, Jan 6: Security forces on Tuesday busted a terrorist hideout during a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Putusai area of Sogam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Official sources said that the troops of 47 Rashtriya Rifles, 31 Battalion BSF and 08 Sector Rashtriya Rifles launched the operation in the general area of Putusai under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sogam early in the morning, which continued till evening.
During the search, arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the terrorist hideout, including 34 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 18 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, one pistol magazine, one Pakistani hand grenade, four Chinese grenades and one ammunition pouch.
They said the recovery has dealt a major blow to terrorist logistics in the area. Further investigation is underway. (KNC)
