Terrorism as usual even after J&K became UT: Shiv Sena

JAMMU, July 25: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K has demanded a retired army or police officer as J&K Governor along with Statehood restoration to the Union Territory (UT) with special privileges.
Addressing a press conference here today Manish Sahni, president J&K Shiv Sena claimed that experiment of making J&K a UT with the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 has proved a complete failure as terrorism, target killing, drug trafficking, crime etc are continuing as usual.
“As per National Crime Records Bureau data, more than 1.12 lakh kg drugs have been seized in J&K between 2018 and 2022,” he maintained.
The Shiv Sena also said that the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits is still incomplete.
“Despite 11 months of formation of the elected Government, four Rajya Sabha seats from J&K are lying vacant,” he continued adding: “At the same time, by-elections are not being announced on Assembly seats of Budgam and Nagrota.”
Meenakshi Chhibber, president Shiv Sena women wing and Raj Singh, president Kamghar were also present on the occasion.
