Srinagar, Sept 8: Government of India today extended the term of Assistant Solicitor General of India (ASGI) of J&K High Court for three years.
In this connection an order was issued from the office of Ministry of Law and Justice Department of Legal Affairs, Government of India.
The order reads that President of India has extended the term of ex-ASGI of J&K High court advocate Tahir Shamsi for three years.
President has also extended the term of ex-ASGIs of Punjab and Haryan and Allahabad High Courts for further three years. The extension shall take effect from date of expiry of their term.
Apart from extension, President also engaged 8 advocates as ASGIs of 8 High Courts of Itanagar, Kohima, Skim, Tripura, Meghalaya, Madras, Chhatisgarh and Karnataka for three years.
