JAMMU, Nov 5: A ten day workshop on Sanskrit Speaking (Sanskrit Sambhashan Shiver), concluded today in the Department of Sanskirt, University Jammu.
The workshop was conducted by the Department of Sanskrit in collaboration with the Sanskrit Bharti, Jammu & Kashmir. The Aim of this workshop was to inculcate a sense of Sanskrit speaking in the department of Sanskrit and other Language Department of the University of Jammu.
In the valedictory function, Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director, Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) JU, was the chief guest. She said that University of Jammu can become centre of excellence in Language in the State of J&K if such kind of programmes are supported by the different organizations and JU may also become a role model for other Colleges and Universities in J&K for Sanskrit speaking. She stressed that the Sanskrit language must be taught at the Elementary classes in the J&K State Board of School Education so that a great sense of old Indian Sanskrit culture may become relevant in today’s world.
Dr Vishawamurthy, former Principal Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthaan Jammu, who was the guest of honor on the occasion, stressed upon the need of Sanskirt language in this fast developing world so that a sense of spirituality, tolerance and peace may prevail in the world.
Dr Dinesh Kamat, Akhil Bhartiya Sangthan Mantri Sanskrit Bharti, Delhi , presented detailed report of the programme.
Prof Sushma Devi, HoD Sanskrit, JU, and e coordinator of this programme, also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Kedar Nath presented the vote of thanks. Prof Ram Bhadur Shukla, Prof Ramnika Jalali, Dr Pratibha and large numbers of scholars and students were also present on this occasion.
