UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: Police have worked out theft case in Kalka Mata Mandir, Barshani and arrested the main accused besides recovering the stolen cash.
On 27th September 2025, Police Station Rehambal registered an FIR No. 150/2025, under section 305(d), 331(4) BNS on the complaint of Sunil Sharma (Pujari), regarding theft in the temple by some unknown persons.
During the course of investigation, swift action was taken by Udhampur Police and one accused person namely Mohd Aslam, son of Beer Mohd, resident of Basti Garah, Hiranagar, Kathua was arrested.
On sustained questioning, the accused disclosed that he along with his associate Showkat Ali, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Pul Doda, Gadso, Doda committed the theft at Kalka Mata Mandir, Barshani during the intervening night of 27th September 2025. On his disclosure, the stolen cash has been recovered.
The second accused is still at large and efforts are on to nab him.
