HYDERABAD, June 2: The winners of the prestigious 72nd Miss World competition, including Miss World Opal Suchata Chuang Sri from Thailand and continental titleholders, were accorded a grand welcome at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, on Monday.
Telangana Governor Vishnu Dev Sharma hosted a special tea party in their honour, celebrating their achievements with cultural flair and dignitary presence.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with several cabinet Ministers, Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Legislative Assembly Speaker Prasad Kumar, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police Jitender, and senior IAS and IPS officers, attended the event as special guests.
The event turned into a cultural and diplomatic showcase, reinforcing Hyderabad’s global image as a hub for international events and hospitality.
Governor Vishnu Dev Sharma and First Lady Mrs. Vishnu Dev Varma felicitated Miss World Opal Suchata and the continental winners – Hasset Dereje (Africa, Ethiopia), Maja Klajda (Europe, Poland), and Aur lie Joachim (America-Caribbean, Martinique).
The dignitaries extended their heartfelt congratulations and shared their pride in Telangana hosting such a globally significant pageant.
As part of the warm reception, the Miss World winners were greeted with traditional tribal dances and a unique welcome platform decorated with forest leaves crafted by local tribal artisans, symbolising Telangana’s rich cultural heritage.
The guests participated in a photoshoot at this specially prepared stage, further highlighting the blend of international glamour with indigenous artistry.
