JAMMU, Jan 4: A teenager was assaulted with sharp weapons in the broad daylight by a group of miscreants in Bakshi Nagar area here today, officials said.

This is the second such attack in the area in almost three weeks. Earlier, a Sub-Inspector posted at Bakshi Nagar Police Station, identified as Nitin Khajuria, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by a group of individuals, creating panic in the locality.
In the recent case, the family members of Krish Dhawan (18) son of Rakesh Dhawan of Rajpura Mangotrian, claimed Krish was stopped near Bhagat Singh Chowk area by a group of almost 12-15 people, who attacked him with sharp weapons.
According to them, the accused were demanding money from their son. Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR number 03/2026 under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and started further investigation into the matter.
