JAMMU, Aug 31: A teenager died of electrocution under mysterious circumstances at Reyal area of Bishnah town today.
Anil (17) son of Garu Ram of Karyal, who worked as an assistant at a shop at Reyal area, suffered severe burn injuries somewhere at Reyal, a police official said.
He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, he said.
While the body of the deceased teen has been handed over to his legal heirs after completion of the medico-legal formalities, inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the actual cause of his death, the police official said.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased teen claimed their son was murdered by the owner of the shop where he worked at Reyal.
“My son wasn’t interested in going to the shop today. But the owner took him forcibly and later murdered him,” the mother of the deceased youth told media persons.
She, and other family members, demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
