JAMMU, Apr 11: Technical knowledge dissemination week organized by North Polytechnic, Jammu concluded today.
On the occasion, an extension lecture was conducted on the topic ‘Design and manufacturing of electric car’ by Er Tirlok Singh, young innovator awardee at All India formula electric car race held at Coimbatore – 2016, for the students of Mechanical Department.
Meanwhile, Jetking Private Ltd in collaboration with department of Computer Engineering & IT, North Polytechnic, Jammu also organized a one-day workshop on the topic “Computer Networking Basics & Computer Hardware” for the students of Computers, IT and Electronics & Communication Department.
Er Naveen Sharma, Director Jetking Pvt Ltd and Jagdeep Singh, Technical Trainer, were the resource persons for the workshop who apprised students about DNS Query, Cable making for networking (cross over, straight cables), working on CISCO packet tracer to simulate the actual working of routers and switches, reorganization of routers and switches and remote desktop between systems.
An Industrial visit was also conducted for the students of Mechanical Engineering Department to JC Bamford Excavators Ltd, Sarore Jammu, universally known as JCB, a British multinational cooperation with headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire where Ravinder Singh explained the working of loaders for lifting the vehicles and explained in detail working of engine as well as hydraulic systems involved.
Another industrial visit was conducted to Sudhdir Genset Pvt Ltd, Industrial Estate, Bari Brahmana, Jammu, where Shammi Kumar, HR, along with Rajesh Kumar, Quality Head, brief students in detail how to combing engine along with radiator is assembled to the body made of CRS sheet.
