Qayoom Wani expressed deep concern that thousands of teachers were being kept away from schools in the name of trainings organized and conducted by NGOs and he termed it as a crude joke with students. He said the majority of students in Government schools were from poor families and teachers and Government should have a concern regarding their academic career. “State Government has handed over the department to NGOs and students get debarred from education as thousands of teachers are kept busy with useless and unwanted trainings,” he said.

He urged the State Government to impose ban on NGOs from entering and providing training to teachers in schools forthwith so that precious time of students is not wasted.

He also demanded removal of Pay anomaly in clerical cadre, regularization of ReTs having completed 5 years service with degrees through distance mode, transfer policy and inclusion of 15 years rendered service to migrate substitute teachers, implementation of minimum wages act on contingent paid employees, stop posting of KAS officers as Joint Directors, etc.
