UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: A general meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum, Udhampur, was held under the chairmanship of Ram Prasad, senior member of provincial body.
In the meeting, members discussed various problems faced by the teaching community. The members criticised the approach and way of adjustments of recent transferred Masters and Teachers. “Much discrimination is done especially with the male members who have crossed the age of 50 years. They have been adjusted in the hard hit areas. The transfer melas proved to be a flop show as the teachers have not been adjusted as per the choices given in the transfer applications,” they alleged.
The meet also criticized the way of working of zonal officers as till date no mid-day meal bills have been cleared although grants for clearance have already been released in their favour. “The teachers have not received GP statements from these zonal offices as per the directions issued by the DSE, Jammu,” they added.
The Union also demanded clearance of all pending bills pertaining to mid-day meal scheme i.e. cooking charges, cooks’ honorarium, transportation charges etc which are pending for the last 6 month. “Without the clearance of these dues, it is not possible for the schools to carry out this scheme further as many teachers have already utilized thousands of rupees from their own pockets,”the meet explained.
The members who expressed their views in the meeting, included Rajesh Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Gulsher Ahmad, Shiv Dev Singh and Sanjay Baria.
