JAMMU, Oct 4: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum called on Principal Secretary to Government, School Education Department, Alok Kumar in his office chamber at Civil Secretariat Srinagar in presence of Director School Education Kashmir, Dr Tasaduk Hussain Mir.
The delegation was led by the Forum Chairman Ganesh Khajuria and President Mohd Shafi Rather. In the marathon meeting, which lasted for close to three hours, almost all the issues faced by the employees of School Education Department were discussed.
The delegation presented a 17- point memorandum to the Principal Secretary and a threadbare discussion was held on each and every point raised in the memorandum. The issue of modification of transfer orders of teachers having compelling problems was highlighted. Filling up of the vacancies of close to 700 Headmasters was raised. The use of General Line Teachers in circular no 5 JK (EDU) of 2023 wherein objections have been invited for updation/revision of Jammu Kashmir School Education (Gazetted) service recruitment rules was discussed and the confusion was instantly cleared by the officer.
The issue of transfer of 3rd ReTs, Normal ReTs, Grade II & Grade III teachers was raised and it was pleaded to bring all these teachers under the transfer policy. Identification of the freezed vacancies of non Gazetted staff and shifting of Grade II and Grade III teachers from supernumerary to substantive posts was also highlighted. The demand to enhance the medical allowances of the employees was also taken up during the meeting.
Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation and said that all the issues faced by the employees of the department will be solved on priority. He said that ATD -2023 has closed and the vacancies of Headmasters will be filled very soon. The vacancies of lecturers will also be filled shortly.
The delegation comprised of Darshan Sharma, Surat Singh Toofani, Mohammad Akbar Dar, Javaid Ahmad Malik, Farooq Ahmad Sofi, Muneer Ahmad Khan, Javaid Ahmad Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Wani, Ghulam Nabi Ganie, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Bharat Bhushan, Fayaz Ahmad Malik, Sahil Bashir and others.
