JAMMU, May 8: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum called on Director School Education, Jammu, Tushar Kanti Sharma and presented him a memorandum highlighting major problems being faced by the teaching community.
The delegation, led by Ganesh Khajuria, comprised of more than 400 members of the Forum from Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts.
In the memorandum, the Forum demanded suitable adjustment of all the Masters, repatriated to Jammu and Kathua from other districts, immediately after lifting of model code of conduct, release of annual increment in favour of all teaching categories, timely release of SSA, NPA and all other salary grants on quarterly basis, issuance of confirmation orders in favour of non-gazetted employees of Education Department, framing of transparent and rational transfer policy for Masters, Teachers, Headmasters and Lecturers, timely release of Mid Day Meal grants, early disposal of cases of permission for higher studies, framing of transfer policy for ReTs, etc.
The Forum also demanded constitution of an inquiry committee at the Directorate level to probe the misappropriation of GPF and other funds in Zone Malhar and Mahanpur.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to take necessary steps on priority basis for solving all the issues.
The deputation comprised of Rajinder Gupta, Satish Dutta, Gopal Singh, Amar Nath Thakur, Kuldeep Singh, Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Ravinder Singh, Upasana Singh, Yuvraj Singh and others.
