JAMMU, Sept 19: The General Line Teachers Forum, Jammu Province has expresses anguish and disappointment over the inordinate delay in completing the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) for left-out districts of Jammu and Udhampur.
A handout stated that the ATD process in eight districts of Jammu Division has already been completed well before the onset of recent heavy rainfall in the region but despite repeated assurances, the process remains unfinished in Jammu and Udhampur districts and the situation has created an atmosphere of confusion, suspicion and a sense of foul play.
The Forum urged the Education Department to immediately complete the ATD process for Jammu and Udhampur districts as any further delay will leave the affected teachers with no option but to launch a democratic agitation, which may include chain hunger strikes ensuring that studies of students are not hampered.
