RAJOURI, Aug 1: In a tragic road accident on Friday, a Government teacher lost his life after his scooty was hit by a tanker in Manjakote area of Rajouri district.
Reports said the accident occurred when a scooty bearing registration number JK11H-8259 was hit by a tanker bearing number JK02CM-7427. The victim, identified as Mohammad Akhlaq, a resident of Dabrote, Rajouri, sustained critical injuries in the collision.
Station House Officer Manjakote, Imran Khan, promptly reached the accident site and shifted the injured to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri, where doctors declared him `brought dead’.
On receiving the tragic news, Chief Education Officer Rajouri, Iqbal Hussain, along with Zonal Education Officer Manjakote, Nisar Hussain, visited GMC Rajouri. They also met the bereaved family and extended their heartfelt condolences, assuring full support.
Meanwhile, the police while taking cognizance of the incident, registered an FIR, and initiated further investigation.
