JAMMU, Nov 2: Several bodies of teachers have appealed the Government to conduct much delayed DPCs (Departmental Promotion Committees) for various cadres of the School Education Department.
All J &K +2 Lecturers Forum convened a meeting of the Forum, jointly chaired by R S Salathia (Chairman) and Jyoti Prakash Shashtri (Forum Advisor). Welcoming the Govt move to convene DPC for regularisation of Incharge lecturers in the discipline of Zoology on the directions of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on 11.11.2025, the Forum urged Minister of School Education, Sakina Masood Itoo and Secretary SED, Ram Niwas Sharma to add at least 10 more subjects in the first instance in the said DPC for regularisation of Incharge lecturers so that DPC of all Subjects could be completed in the shortest possible time.
Jammu Kashmir Teachers Masters Association, in its monthly meeting at Udhampur under the chairmanship of UT President Rakesh Singh, expressed serious concern over delay in the DPC of Teachers and Masters. The Association urged the Education Minister Sakinaa Itoo to personally intervene into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to conduct the much awaited DPC of the Teachers/Masters in the various streams, particularly in Science stream to fill the vacant posts of Lecturers as shortage of Lecturers in Senior secondary schools is adversely affecting the academics of the students particularly in the rural areas.
Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee, held today at Udhampur under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar, appealed Director School Education Jammu for conducting much delayed DPC of Teachers to Masters to avoid stagnation.
The meet also demanded DPC of other cadres including clerical, in the School Education Department.
