JAMMU, Mar 14: Second day of the 4th edition of Tawi Festival under Hari Tara Charitable Trust witnessed a vibrant confluence of literature, ideas and music, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the border regions of J&K.
The day began with a seminar on ‘Literature and Ideas’ at Durbar Hall of Amar Mahal Museum.

The seminar opened with an address by Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary Kala Kendra.
Eminent writers and poets from Poonch-Rajouri who presented their works were K.D Maini, Pradeep Khanna, Zamrud Mughal, Liaqat Jafri, Swami Antar Nirav, Prithpal Singh Behtab, Irfan Arif and Romi Sharma.
The poets were felicitated by Dr. Karan Singh in the presence of Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Director of Amar Mahal Museum and Library and Trustee Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh.
The seminar also featured a presentation by students and faculty of IIT Jammu titled ‘Keeping the Cultural Memory Alive: Oral Stories of Survival from Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch.’
The presentation was led by Dr. Amitash Ojha and Dr. Quleen Kaur Bijral, along with research scholars Marvi, Faisal Javid, Ilam, Ajaz and collaborators Jahnvi and Shamina.
The IIT faculty and students were felicitated by the Trustee Martand Singh.
In evening, the festival continued with a music recital at Kala Kendra, featuring Dogri folk, Classical, Bhairavi by Vijay Singh Sambyal (Rangeelay Thakur) along with his students.
The musical evening was attended by Dr. Karan Singh, Chief Executive Trustee of Hari Tara Charitable Trust, along with the Trustees Ajatshatru Singh and Martand Singh, Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Director AMML, Dr. Ritu Singh, Ranvijay Singh and Adishree Singh.
Eminent personalities from the fields of art, culture and public life present on the occasion were Padamshree Balwant Thakur, O.P Vidyarthi, Lalit Gupta, Anoop Singh, P.S Pathania, president Dharamarth Trust, Ashok Sharma, Harbans Singh Sambyal, Author, Sohan Singh Billowaria, R.S Jasrotia, Secretary Hari Tara Charitable Trust, Retd SSP Vikram Singh Jamwal and others.
The programme ended with felicitation to Vijay Singh Sambyal (Rangeelay Thakur) and his students with a Bhajan by Dr. Karan Singh.
