DODA, May 6: Two persons lost their lives when the vehicle they were onboard veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Gandoh area of mountainous Doda district on Tuesday evening.
The ill fated vehicle of Tata Sumo make bearing registration number JK06-5339 was moving from Gandoh to Doda and the accident took place near Bamoo on Thathri-Kilhotran road.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta informed that immediately after the accident Police along with locals of the area swung into action and started a rescue operation and retrieved the bodies of the deceased persons.
“The bodies were shifted to Gandoh Hospital for post-mortem and other legal formalities,” he informed.
The deceased were identified as Adil, son of Mohd Musa, resident of Bamboo and Bilal Ahmed, son of Late Gh. Mohd, resident of Malikpura.
Police has registered a case in this regard in FIR number 40/2025 under the relevant sections of BMS and started investigation.
