Taryath people demand separate constituency, Degree College

KALAKOTE, June 25: The people from Taryath area of Kalakote Constituency in district Rajouri have strongly demanded creation of separate Assembly Constituency as this area always remained neglected by the respective public representatives and the Government.
In a meeting of the residents held under the leadership of former Sarpanch and local BJP leader, Bodh Raj, the people alleged that this area which has border with Nowshera ( Sunderbani), Reasi and Kotranka constituencies has always faced discrimination in terms of development. Though this tehsil is part of largest Kalakote constituency in the district, yet it had been facing discrimination since long.
The former Sarpanch further said that this tehsil comprises of nearly 50 villages and it has population of nearly 2 lakhs. Its six Panchayats falls in Reasi, five in (Sunderbani/ Nowshera), 6 in Darhal while ten under Kalakote constituency. With nearly 30 Panchayats, a separate Assembly constituency can be created for Taryath for providing real justice to the people.
He said this area is facing severe water and power crisis, many PMGSY roads have been abandoned, moreover, strong demand of creation of Degree College has not been fulfilled despite the fact that area has over six feeding Higher Secondary Schools. There is new CHC but only one doctor (NHM) doctor is available against the sanction strength of seven. He demanded early conduct of Delimitation of Assembly Constituencies in the State and creation of new constituency for Taryath.
