Tara Chand demands rehabilitation package for border residents

JAMMU, May 29: Working president, Pradesh Congress Committee and former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today demanded a complete rehabilitation package for the people living in the border areas.
In a press statement issued, the Congress leader said, “The Government should release a package for people of border area, who faced direct shelling by Pakistan. This package of ten marlas plot and Rs 10 Lakhs for construction of their respective houses in safer places and exactly on the pattern of a package announced by then UPA Government for the people of Chhamb.”
Demanding a special employment drive for border areas of Jammu Province, Tara Chand said, “Both the Central as well as State Government should rope in the unemployed youths and also fill the vacant vacancies in various Departments.”
He also lauded the role of armed forces during war and even in peace era also. Recalling 1965, 1971, Kargil war and even during the proxy war initiated by our neighbor Pakistan, Tara Chand said that every single individual in the country remained united and stand by our forces.
He also hailed the decision of Leader of Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi to visit Jammu province and Poonch area specifically, which badly affected by heavy shelling of Pakistan.
