RAMESWARAM, Dec 30 : Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said Tamil civilisation is not regional but foundational to Bharat’s civilisational journey.
Addressing the valedictory of Kashi Tamil Sanagamam 4.0 in his sacred holy island town, he said with Tamil Karkalam as this year’s theme, the Sangamam has not just encouraged learning Tamil but has also opened the gateway to India’s ancient wisdom.
Taking the audience by surprise, Mr Pradhan, who addressed in Tamil, said inclusivity and accessibility to India’s civilisational wisdom
is at the heart of Kashi Tamil Sangamam and NEP 2020.
He said India’s unity grows stronger when diversity is respected, knowledge is shared and civilisation is carried forward with humility.
Espousing the same ethos, #KashiTamilSangamam strengthens the idea that India’s future becomes stronger when its languages and linguistic diversity becomes bridges to knowledge.
“Confident that Kashi Tamil Sangamam will inspire our youth to become proud torchbearers of our glorious civilisation”, he added.
Mr Pradhan noted that with a confluence like Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sowed the seeds to celebrate our shared heritage, instill a sense of pride in our intellectual, spiritual and cultural heritage as well as strengthen national cohesion and unity.
