Taj reviews functioning of Lal Ded Hospital

Srinagar, Jan 31: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today directed immediate linking of old and new blocks of famed Lal Ded Hospital at Srinagar to cope up with the ever growing rush of patients from far and wide.
Chairing a meeting to review the functioning of the hospital during his first visit today, the Minister asked the SMC authorities to prepare a rehabilitation plan for those shopkeepers and vendors who are to be dislocated with the hospital expansion. In this connection, he asked the SMC and JKPCC authorities to maintain a close liaison so that the project is completed forthwith.
The Minister asked the hospital authorities to maintain higher levels of sanitation and cleanliness. He directed the Urban Environmental Engineering Department authorities to augment the sewerage treatment plant at the hospital and connect it with the main sewer trunk. He also directed computerization of all hospital departments, linking of all HoDs with drug store and chemical analysis of supplies procured by the hospital.
The Minister also visited the G B Pant Hospital at Sonawar, Srinagar and reviewed its functioning. He visited the measures taken by the hospital administration since last year and impressed upon the doctors to main quality standards of treatment and sanitation so that the situation of last year is not allowed to repeat.
Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan, SSP, Srinagar, Syed AshiqBukhari, Principal, GMC, Srinagar, Commissioner, SMC, Dr. G. N. Qasba, Medical Superintendents, representatives of JKPCC and other officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
