JAMMU, Apr 19: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Swayamsevaks today organized ‘Kutumb Shakhas’ (family) at their respective places with their family members across Jammu region , like other parts of the country.
The RSS members are not allowing the lockdown to affect their daily routine and they are now holding ‘Kutumb Shakha’ in their homes to maintaining the social distancing. As per schedule, the Shakhas first session includes physical activities like yoga and exercise, while the second was devoted to ‘ Baudhik’ (lecture) and mental exercises.
“The family members of Swayamsevaks get together on the terrace or the garden and they hold the ‘Kutumb Shakhas’ today evening. They begin with physical activities like Yoga and exercise and then prayer of Shakha,” said Surinder Mohan Gupta, Jammu Mahanagar Sanghchalak of RSS. He said that more and more families were making this a part of their daily routine.
“It eases mental stress and helps one to cope with the lockdown impact. It also increases harmony in the family,” said Gupta. The RSS which is playing an active role in relief operations during lockdown, is also spreading messages like “maximize social distancing and mitigate COVID-19” among the masses.
“We interact with people while distributing food packets, masks, sanitizers or holding medical camps and we impress upon them the need for social distancing and building up immunity in ,” said Varun Jamwal, a RSS member in Toph Sherkhania of Jammu. According to RSS sources, over ten thousand ‘Kutumb Shakhas’ were held in Jammu city and several hundreds in various districts of the Jammu province.
