JAMMU, Aug 18: Swami Kashi Bab Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety here. In this connection a grand function was organised by Swami Kashi Bab Ji Maharaj Trust, (SKBJMT) Hugam at its Bantalab Ashram.
A large number of devotees thronged the Ashram to participate in the annual function which was marked by Maha Yagya and religious discourses on the life of this mystic saint.
“This annual Yagya is not only about performing a tradition but also importantly about keeping our cultural and place consciousness alive while being in exile”, said B L Dhar, committee head of the Trust. He added, “We truly believe that there is a certain divine intervention of Swami Ji’s grace that has given us the strength and resources to carry forward his legacy with a missionary zeal. We had strong faith that despite starting from scratch, we will one day perform this Yagya in an ashram devoted to Swami Kashi Bab. Today that faith has turned into a reality”.
Naveed / Prashad was served to the devotees after the Purna Ahuti. Trust activity report was presented by the Committee Head, BL Dhar in which he shared details about the annual developments and progress made by the Trust.
An award ceremony was organised to encourage meritorious students of Hugam and to honour social activists working for the welfare of the community. Academic appreciation award was presented to Aditya Dhar, son of Shri Ashwani Dhar and Kaki Dhar, on obtaining 96 percent marks in 10th class, 2025. Appreciation awards were presented to Sunil Ji Thusoo chairman Kashmiri Medical Emergency Trust (KMECT) and Vikram Koul Founder Kashmiri Volunteers (KPV) for their contribution to the community through social welfare activism. The awards were given in the presence of Ashok Koul BJP Org Secretary, Moti Lal Ji Malla, acting president ASKPC, Dr Susheel Wattal a renowned social mentor and Ashok Ji Kangan a renowned community activist. Bhola Nath Dhar general secretary of Swami Kashi Babi Ji Maharaj Trust gave a vote of thanks.
The session was moderated by PK Raina, a social mentor and scholar.
A hawan was also performed in KHS Bhawan in Pune by esteemed members of the SKBJMT – Ravinder Pandita, Sunil Tickoo and Vijay Bhat.
