KATRA, Nov 13: During his visit in Jammu and Kashmir, Mahamandleshwar Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj interacted with students from various schools, here today.
The session, organised by Ajay Sharma under the banner of J&K GIEO GITA and coordinated by state president Chetan Wanchoo and his team, was filled with devotion, wisdom and youthful enthusiasm.
Addressing the gathering, Swami Ji guided the students on how to live a life rooted in awareness, discipline, and confidence through the eternal teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
He emphasized the importance of staying active, alert and aware in every phase of life, adding that struggles are a natural part of growth.
“Past is gone, future is unknown, but the present is your own. True wisdom lies in performing one’s duties sincerely and joyfully in the present,” he said.
Explaining the essence of Karma Yoga, Swami Ji highlighted that individuals have the right to action but not to the fruits of their actions.
“When we detach from the anxiety of outcomes and focus on honest effort, peace naturally follows,” he said, adding that success and failure are temporary, but righteous action is permanent.
The session included Gita Gayan (recitation of verses) and interactive discussions, where Swami Ji encouraged students to cultivate self-belief, discipline and positive thinking.
Quoting the Gita, he said, “Elevate yourself through your own mind, for the mind can be your best friend and also your worst enemy.”
Among others who attended the session included LoP and MLA Sunil Sharma, MLA Baldev Sharma, MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat and Devyani Rana.
Swami Ji also announced a Mega Gita Mahotsav from November 23 to December 1, culminating with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kurukshetra on December 25 to celebrate the timeless message of the Bhagavad Gita.
