JAMMU, Sept 1: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association (SVREA) here today staged a protest demonstration in favour of their demands.
The protesters were led by Dev Raj Bali, Association president and they raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Demands of these retired employees included release of sixth pay commission arrears with effect from January 2006, cost of living allowance arrears since 2009, pension benefits and bonus of 8.33 per cent on basic pay.
The protesters appealed to the Governor to look into their demands and clear their arrears at an earliest.
Prominent among those who participated in the protest included Balwinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Mohinder Singh, Shiv Kumar, B.B Sharma, Deep Raj, Gulshan Singh, Dwarka Nath and others.
