KISHTWAR, Apr 18: A suspect, who was detained for questioning in a missing case of a youth allegedly attempted suicide in the washroom of Police Station Kishtwar, here today.
As per police sources, a person identified as Akhter Hussain, son of Ali Mohammad, a resident of Keshwan along with his wife were called at Police Station Kishtwar for questioning in the missing case of a youth Tariq Hussain.
“During questioning, Akhter Hussain went to the washroom of the Police Station and tried to attempt suicide by hanging himself”, sources said, adding that noticing some suspicious movement, cops rushed to the washroom and brought down Akhter Hussain from a hook.
Sources further revealed that Akhter Hussain was rushed to District Hospital Kishtwar, from where he was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
When contacted, SSP Kishtwar, Abrar Chowdhary said that Akhter Hussain and his wife were called for questioning in Police Station Kishtwar as they have called youth Tariq Hussain on his mobile phone several times before he went missing.
Akhter Hussain during questioning allegedly tried to commit suicide and police is conducting investigation, he added.
