Supersonic Brahmos missile to be test fired today

BALASORE, July 28:
The user trial of supersonic cruise missile Brahmos is likely  to be conducted  from the Integrated Test Range, (ITR), a DRDO base at Chandipur off Balasore coast tomorrow.
ITR sources here said all required preparations at various levels including range integration for the launch of the missile have already started.
The missile, an Indo-Russian joint venture  product, is a two-stage missile having nine metres length and around 3.9 tonnes weight with the canister, and a strike  range of 290 km.
It could fly at a speed of 3 Mach with warhead weighing up to 300 kg and could be launched from ships, road and rail mobile launchers.
The two-stage missile, the first one being solid and the second one ramjet liquid propellant, has already been inducted into the Army and Navy. (UNI)
