KISHTWAR, Oct 6: Minister of State for Transport, PWD (R&B), Revenue, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sunil Sharma today visited Nagseni area of district Kishtwar and held a public grievance redressal camp at Dool.
During his visit to the area, the Minister laid foundation stone of Dool-Chergi project under Integrated Watershed Management Programme, to be constructed at an estimated cost of 411.30 lakh by State Level Nodal Agency.
Later, Sunil Sharma held a public grievance redressal camp at Dool, where people of the area apprised him about various problems being faced by them including repair and maintenance of roads, disbursement of land compensation to the villagers, augmentation of water and power supply, adequate availability of ration etc.
The Minister after giving a patient hearing to the public directed the concerned officers to take immediate actions under intimation to his office.
Responding to the demands of public, he informed that under PMGSY phase 10 Union Government has already sanctioned Rs 2800 crore for the State, out of which Rs 623 crore have been allotted to district Doda and Kishtwar. He further said that 70% of work on Kiru-Kawar Mini Hydro Electric Project has been completed.
To overcome the shortage of water in Kishtwar, two major water supply schemes have been taken up in the district. He further assured the public that construction work of much awaited airstrip for the district will be started shortly.
