SAMBA, Jan 31: Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd., in collaboration with the NGO Care for You, officially inaugurated the Sun Vidya Model School at Upper Kartholi. This initiative, developed under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of Sun Pharma, saw the complete transformation of the Government Primary School into a modern facility designed to provide a high-quality, conducive learning environment for local children.
The ceremony was graced by Chander Parkash Ganga, former Minister, and MLA, Vijaypur, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion. During his keynote address Ganga detailed the School’s historical journey from its inception to its current revitalization. He commended the synergy between Sun Pharma and Care for You, emphasizing that the upgrading of infrastructure is a pivotal move in empowering the next generation of students in district Samba.
Representing Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd., Plant Head Roopesh Ajit Mirji and HR Head KamleshDevikar were as guests of honour. Ajit Mirji elaborated on Sun Pharma’s extensive CSR initiatives across India. He expressed his profound appreciation for the meticulous implementation work carried out by the Care for You team and signalled a long-term commitment to the region, promising future partnerships specifically within the health sector. The transformation process was closely monitored and supported by PriyankaTalwar, CSR Head for J&K, who played an active role in ensuring the project’s success.
The event was marked by a vibrant display of talent as students performed various dances and group songs to celebrate their new school environment. The atmosphere was one of shared community pride, highlighting the impact of private-sector investment in public infrastructure.
The proceedings concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Touseef Malik, founder president of Care for You. He extended his gratitude to the dignitaries, the media, and the security personnel for their support.
He specifically acknowledged the dedication of the School Management Committee, School In-charge Ms.RituChib, and the Care for You J&K team including Syed Ashfaq Andrabi, BindiyaTickoo, Rameez Raja Malik, Muzaffar Khawaja, Yawer Rathore, and Ms.Veena Devifor their tireless efforts in bringing this vision to life.
