REASI, Jan 21: In connection with National Road Safety Month, team ARTO Reasi today organized a Sumo Rally in Mahore.
The rally was organized on the directions of Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik under the guidance of RTO Jammu Pankaj Bhagotra, The rally started from TCP and covered the whole market area of Mahore. The rally was aimed at spreading awareness regarding road safety as well as sensible and safe driving.
The drivers were also made aware about the Do’s and Don’ts of road safety, traffic rules and to keep proper documents of their vehicles. The programme concluded with road safety oath taken by all present, pledging for safe and responsible driving in order to minimize road accidents.
In addition, enforcement drive was also conducted in the hilly roads of Mahore, Dharmari and adjoining areas, wherein 8 vehicles were challaned for various offences under different sections of MV Act and 3 vehicles including 2 e-autos were seized while 1 driving license was recommended for suspension.
An amount of Rs 57,000 was expected to be realized from these e-challans.
