Students protest against Govt decision of taking over UIET

JAMMU, Feb 15:  Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad along with the students of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) staged a protest outside the Raj Bhavan, here today.
They were protesting against the Government decision of taking over control of UIET from Jammu University.  The protest was led by ABVP State Secretarial Deepak Gupta, Mahanagar Mantri Piyush Khajuria & Saksham Koushal, elected representative of UIET.
They raised slogans against the Government decision of taking over UTIT.
The protesters  told the media persons that students had taken admission in A+ grade Jammu University rather than the Cluster University,  which has no grading and  which was created only last year.
“We have already completed our first semester of their course of 4 years and now the University Administration and Government are saying us to move to GCET Janglote as per  a notification issued by the Cabinet,” they added and informed that they had already approached the Vice Chancellor, who purportedly said that he had  nothing in his hands.   and they also met with Prof. Amitabh Mattoo The Honorable Advisor to the Chief
We also discussed the matter with Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Advisor to the Chief Minister and he has assured the students that some solution would be evolved.
They accused the Government of adopting dictatorial attitude and giving no consideration to genuine concern of the students.
The protesting students also met Principal Secretary to the Governor,   Umang Narula who assured justice.
