RAJOURI, Aug 29: Students of Govt High School Shahdara Sharief in Thana Mandi held strong protest demonstration against the School Education authorities and blocked road for over 4 hours today.
The students of all the classes today boycotted their studies and came out on Thana Mandi-Shahdara Sharief Road and started protest in the morning. They did not allow the movement of vehicles on the road and started protest against ZEO, Thana Mandi, CEO Rajouri and the Director School Education besides the minister concerned.
The people of the area also joined their children and continued protest for hours.
They alleged that in this Govt High School strength of children was nearly 350. Thirteen teachers were posted in the school in the recent past but six managed posting some where else. Now 7 had been left and CEO again adjusted four teachers to other places. At present there were only three teachers in this High school and they can not teach 10 classes. They alleged that by creating such circumstances, the ZEO and CEO were apparently forcing the students to switch over the private schools.
Later, Tehsildar Thana Mandi Farooq Khan reached the spot and talked to the agitating children. Later, ZEO was also summoned by the administration. He sought time up to Monday and assured that four teachers will be restored shortly. The children warned to lock the school from Monday onwards, if the teachers were not restored to the school.
