MARH, Oct 4: School students were made aware about harms of narcotics addiction by organizing a street play ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ at Marh Higher Secondary School today.
The programme was organized by a team of Nav Durga Kala Manch with coordinator of Nukkad Natak North Zone Culture Patiala.
The street play also spread awareness about cleanliness and gave a message to school children through drama regarding de-addiction and HIV.
A handout stated that under the guidance of Team Jammu chairman, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, children presented a play on the theme of giving-up drug addiction.
SP Rural, Rahul Charak was chief guest and SDPO Domana, Vishal Shoor, Tehsildar Marh, Rampal Sharma and SHO Domana, Kunal Singh Jamwal were special guests.
Speaking on the occasion Zorawar Singh said nowadays even shopkeepers do not prevent children from intoxicating substances due to which children are getting spoiled.
SP Rural, Rahul Charak said that drug addiction not only causes physical problems but also causes huge losses at economic and social level.
SDPO Domana, Vishal Shoor said that drug addiction promotes crimes.
Tehsildar Rampal Sharma said that the social respect of a drug addict is negligible.
SHO Domana, Kunal Singh said that one should report police if any person consumes or sells drugs near them. Principal of the School, school staff and others were also present on the occasion.
