JAMMU, July 27: Students from various colleges affiliated with the University of Jammu today gathered at Team Jammu’s head office in Shakti Nagar and pledged to support anti-drug awareness campaigns.
The event, organised by Team Jammu, marked the launch of a youth-led initiative aimed at spreading awareness, engaging communities, and encouraging young people to lead the fight against drug addiction in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairman of Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and described the movement as a turning point in the fight against drugs.
“These students are the torchbearers of change. Their commitment shows that we can build a united front to educate and protect our youth from falling prey to drugs,” he said.
He further stressed the need to treat drug peddlers as enemies of society.
“There should be no mercy for drug dealers, no matter their background. Drugs don’t discriminate-they destroy families and the future. It’s time for civil society to rise above religion and caste and treat this menace with zero tolerance,” he added.
He said the initiative will empower students to act as ambassadors for a drug-free society, reaching out to educational institutions and local communities.
“Their participation is expected to boost ongoing campaigns and create a culture of awareness and responsibility,” Zorawar said.
Others present on the occasion included Tanishq Singh Rathore, Aman Sharma, Raghav Jamwal, Lovish Charak, Kunal Sharma, Abhishek Kumar, and Sachin Ghai.
