Students of GHSS Majalta protest against shortage of teachers

UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: Students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Majalta, today held a protest demonstration against shortage of teaching staff in the school.
The protest was led by Sarpanch Dina Nath and Rajinder Kumar, JKNPP youth secretary, who in their address said that though Education Department has posted sufficient staff in the school yet most of  the posts are vacant in the school from last six months.
They said that students are facing faces the problems as there is no teacher of English and Economics. ”The shortage of the staff has been adversely affecting the studies of the students”, they added and appealed the authorities concerned for ensuring proper attendance of the teachers so that the students may not suffer any more.
The protesting students also demanded filling up of posts of lecturers or masters for subjects of EVS, Physical Education, Computer Science, Hindi, etc on priority basis in the school. The irate students blocked the main road for almost 3 hours after which Tehsildar and SHO Majalta, SP Sambyal reached the spot and pacified them by assuring that the Education department will fulfill their demands within 2 days.
