JAMMU, Nov 6: Negligence of the authorities at Super Speciality Hospital Jammu has claimed the life of a woman.
Kanchan Arora, 58, wife of Pankaj Arora, resident of Anand Vihar, Tallab Tillo got struck in the hospital lift on the fateful morning of November 1, 2025 and was critical after that.
She struggled between the life and the death for five days at Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital where she was put on ventilators but she succumbed today evening.
Sources informed that the hospital lift abruptly started moving upwards with a high speed just as the lady stepped into it on third floor of the hospital and she was struck there from her neck.
Some eyewitnesses informed that after the incident it took 15 minutes for the security guards to retrieve the lady from the machine.
Relatives of the deceased lady claimed that there was even no lift operator or a security guard at that time near the lift.
“If the lift had some technical snag, the hospital authorities should have displayed the same on the lift so that a precious life could be saved,” they said.
