Strikes and Dharnas

Sir,
Stirkes and dharnas are vital factors in democracy to press demands, cry against  injustice and lament over in-action by an authority concerned. But immeasurable loss such strikes and dharnas cause is beyond description. Blocking ways, jamming roads halting entire transport system for hours together, when many have to reach their destinations soon, is an inexplainable distress. In several cases, the protesters even do not hesitate to put on fire Govt and private vehicles to express their grievances.
It causes total discomfort and inconvenience even to those who have absolutely no concern with a particular situation. What is required is to avoid such situations where the public is unnecessarily subjected to difficulties, and the District Magistrate concerned ought to be well informed atleast 2-3 days before the remedial actions. Actually, there is no smoke without fire. There is always administrative lacuna and failure when such harsh steps are taken by the public concerned. If things move in the right direction, grievances are timely redressed, masses aren’t ignored, such scenes where roads are jammed and the masses are made to suffer, will not take place.
So. it is imperative that the interests of the public must be protected both by law and morality.
Yours etc…
