RAJOURI, Jan 27: A tragic incident was reported late tonight in Panchayat Jigni, Ward No. 2, where a severe storm led to the snapping of an electric wire, which fell on a residential house and triggered a devastating fire.
The fire completely damaged the house belonging to Jasbir Singh, son of Tirath Ram, resulting in extensive loss of property. Fortunately, no loss of human life has been reported in the incident.
In another major loss, four livestock animals belonging to Sandeep Singh, son of Late Rachpal Singh, were killed in the fire, causing significant economic hardship to the affected family.
Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and informed the concerned authorities. Efforts were made to control the fire and prevent it from spreading further. The administration has been informed, and an assessment of losses is expected to be carried out.
The incident has once again highlighted the dangers posed by extreme weather conditions and exposed electric infrastructure during storms.
