JAMMU, June 4: Police in Akhnoor area today claimed that they have recovered a stolen vehicle during routine patrolling duty.
According to police, a white Maruti Ecco (JK02BF-2767) was found abandoned under suspicious circumstances by a patrolling party led by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Sanjeev Chib.
On verification, it was found that the vehicle had been stolen from Rehari Colony during the intervening night of April 14 and 15, police said.
According to them, a case in connection with the theft was earlier registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar under section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
“Following procedure, the vehicle was seized under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for evidence preservation,” police said, adding, “Accordingly, Police Station Bakshi Nagar was informed for further investigation into the matter.”
