UDHAMPUR, May 20: Acting swiftly, Udhampur Police recovered a stolen transformer of 25 KVA and also arrested two alleged thieves.
Police Station Majalta received a complaint via WhatsApp from JE PDD, Majalta, stating that a 25 KVA transformer installed at village Platter (Majalta) had been stolen during the intervening night of 17/18 May 2025. The estimated value of the stolen transformer was approximately Rs 1.5 lakh.
In this regard, an e-FIR was registered at PS Majalta under relevant sections of law. During the course of investigation, a number of suspects were rounded up by the police team. Based on technical inputs and sustained questioning, two suspects confessed their involvement in the theft and were arrested. On their disclosure, the stolen 25 KVA transformer was recovered by the police team.
The arrested accused have been identified as Gafoor Ali, son of Mohd Sadiq of Plater Dhamma, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur and Atter Singh son of Shanker Singh of Garh Dhamma, Tehsil Majalta, and District Udhampur.
