KATRA, Sept 16: With the arrest of a scrap dealer among two accused persons, Police recovered a stolen scooty, which was taken away in May last.
On 4th May 2025, a complaint regarding the theft of a Scooty Activa bearing registration number JK14F-4237 was received at Police Post Kakryal. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 130/2025 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the team of Police Post Kakryal led by PSI Akhilesh Khajuria succeeded in arresting one accused person namely Deepak Kumar son of Bodh Raj of Sirah Kotla, Katra, Reasi
On his disclosure, the stolen Scooty was recovered from the possession of another person, a scrap dealer namely Mohd Ashraf son of Jamal Din of Maslote, Thuroo, Reasi, who was also arrested under relevant sections.
Further investigation in the case is underway to ascertain the involvement of others, if any, Police said.
