JAMMU, Feb 11: Nowabad police today arrested a thief and recovered stolen mobile phones worth Rs 4 lakh from his possession.
“Acting on a written complaint lodged at police post Talab Tillo regarding theft of mobiles from a mobile shop B K Traders in Talab Tillo area, a case FIR Number 07/2021 under Section 457/380 was registered at police station Nowabad,” a police official said.
The official said to solve the theft case, special investigation teams of police post Talab Tillo under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Swati Sharma were constituted. He said the team led by Incharge police post Talab Tillo, SI Kali Charan, while on patrolling duty rounded up a suspect coming from Khushvinder Lane, Talab Tillo.
He said on search of the suspect, 15 stolen mobiles worth Rs 4 lakh were recovered from his illegal possession. “During sustained questioning, accused confessed his crime that the mobiles were stolen from the same shop,” he added.
