Stolen luggage containing gold recovered, restored to owner

JAMMU, Nov 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Janipur area have recovered a stolen suitcase containing gold and other valuables and restored it to its rightful owner.
A police official said the case was reported on October 30 when one Trilok Nath Bhat informed Police Station Janipur that he had forgotten his suitcase in an electric three-wheeler while travelling from Talimorh, Janipur to Parade. The bag contained valuable items, including a 12-tola gold chain.
Acting swiftly, the police official said, the SDPO West Dr Satish Bhardwaj constituted a special team led by SHO Janipur, Inspector Vikram Sharma, to trace the missing luggage.
Using a combination of human and technical intelligence, the police team managed to identify the vehicle and recover the suitcase from the auto driver after a thorough investigation, he said.
Accordingly, the recovered luggage was later handed over to the complainant, who expressed gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their prompt response and professional handling of the matter.
