JAMMU, Aug 10: The Sthapna Divas (installation day) of Shri Shani Dev (Shila) at Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, was celebrated today with grand rituals and religious ceremonies.
The programme started at 07.30 A.M by conducting Ganesh and navgreh puja and Hawan followed by puja of trishul and elephants. Abhishek and shingar of all these idols was conducted by Arti and Puran Ahuti by eminent Pandits and Shastris.
Later at 1 pm, a grand Bhandara was organized for general public, wherein large number of people participated till late in the evening.
Head Pujari Pt Ashwani Kumar Shastri briefed the gathering by highlighting the ways of Shani Pooja. He narrated that the malefic gaze of Lord Shani is said to be of grief, dullness, laziness, failure, poverty, delays and other adversaries.
The whole porogramme was conducted under the guidance of Th Gulchain Singh Charak (former Minister and President of Management Trust) and sponsored by Devinder Khawle of Pune.
Prominent among others who participated on the occasion include S C Rekhi, (Gen.Secy), Karan Singh, V K Abrol, Romesh Thakur, P C Gupta, Kapil Slathia, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Ved Verma, Parshant Sharma, Krishan P Gupta, Sumesh Damral, Sandeep Singh, Tarun Gupta, Col Pushaphar Sharma, Kiran Rajput, Uma Sharma, Kulbir Singh Chib, Ashok Khajuria, Pankul Vaid and Ashok Gupta.
