JKPCC leaders discuss roadmap with leadership in Delhi

JAMMU, Nov 29: All India Congress Committee general secretary (Organisation), K C Venugopal has cautioned the senior J&K Congress leaders to put a united face for their sincere efforts to strengthen the party in Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior AICC leader made these comments during a crucial meeting with the senior Congress leaders from Jammu and Kashmir at Delhi on Friday afternoon. The leaders discussed a roadmap for the party in J&K and other organizational affairs.
Venugopal chaired the meeting while AICC general secretary in-charge Jammu and Kashmir affairs of the party Dr Sayed Naseer Hussain, JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra, CLP Leader and AICC general secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir, CWC Member and former JKPCC chief Vikar Rasool Wani, AICC secretaries deputed to J&K, Divya Maderna and Pargat Singh also attended the meeting, held at the Congress headquarters, Indira Bhawan, New Delhi.
“Held a productive meeting on J and K with general secretary in-charge Naseer Hussain, PCC president Tariq Karra, CLP Leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir, CWC Permanent Invitee Vikar Rasool and AICC Secretaries deputed in J and K to discuss organisational matters and our roadmap for the near future in the State,” Venugopal said in a post on X after the meeting. He also shared pictures of the meeting.
J&K Congress MLA and CLP Leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir, in a post on X also said, “Had a fruitful discussion today regarding organizational matters and the roadmap ahead for J and K. Along with AICC general secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal Ji, Gen Secy In-charge Nasir Hussain, MP, Rajya Sabha, PCC president Tariq Hameed Karra, Vikar Rasool and AICC Secretaries Divya Maderna and Pargat Singh, we are committed to strengthening the party’s voice in the region.”
Party sources said that Congress has already launched process for the appointment of new district presidents in the Jammu and Kashmir, followed by District and Block bodies to strengthen party structure. The party aimed at preparing new roadmap in J&K and remove the weaknesses of the party in certain areas.
Venugopal took feedback from all the J&K leaders over the strengths and weaknesses of the party in various districts and the regions. The issue related to non-participation of some of the leaders in important party functions also came under discussion. The emphasis was laid on the participation of all the leaders/ important functionaries in the party programmes in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving aside their differences, if any.
AICC general secretary (Org), cautioned one and all to put a united face and work jointly to strengthen the party in various pockets and districts in J&K. He also advised the party leadership in J&K to take along all the functionaries/ cadre for the welfare and health of the party, leaving side their petty interests, if any.
Venugopal and Hussain advised the leadership in J&K to work out jointly how to project and agitate the local public issues and bring them to the logical conclusion. They asked the local cadre to remain in the public and raise their issues vigorously.
Party sources further said that as a part of strengthening party in the Jammu and Kashmir, LoP Rahul Gandhi, has already directed party’s Media Department to launch the talent hunt campaign to open doors for all knowledgeable, young, dynamic and public spirited persons to apply online for joining the process of selections in the Media Department. The meeting also discussed and decided to publicise the process in order to educate the people about their desire to join Media & Publicity Department of Congress. In J&K, the party has deputed several senior leaders as Observers to accomplish the task.
