JAMMU, Feb 12: All Jammu & Kashmir Pensioners’ and Civil Society Association, Jammu today highlighted the demands of the State pensioners and appealed the Governor to solve the long pending issues once forever.
The issues of the pensioners/family pensioners were discussed in detail in a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh Adyal, president of the Association.
During the meeting, general secretary of the Association, ND Sharma, said that Government have divided pensioners into four categories of qualifying service viz 33 years, 30 years, 28 years and 20 years due to which lower category of pensioners having less qualifying service are getting full pension while others having more qualifying service are getting lesser pension.
“Due to non-confirmation in higher pay scales while in service, the pensioners are getting lesser pension of the lower pay scale,” he said, adding that this disparity needs to be looked into. He further asserted to remove disparity between clerical cadre and other employees as the former have been upgraded in their pay scales under SRO 333 of 2018 dated 02-08-2018 while other employees having same pay scale were left aside.
Sharma also demanded revision of medical allowance to Government employees/pensioners from Rs 300 per month to Rs 3000 per month and early introduction of Health Care Medical Insurance Scheme duly approved by the Government.
He also laid stress on removing anomalies of arrears of HRA and CCA from 1/1992 to 8/1993 and also disparities appearing in the grade pay of erstwhile GTU/JKSRTC employees and pensioners. He appealed Governor SP Malik and Advisor KK Sharma to settle all these issues at the earliest.
