JAMMU, Oct 29: All J&K State Pensioners Association highlighted their demands in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its general secretary, Madan Lal Abrol.
While addressing the meeting, Abrol demanded enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month for pensioners. He demanded that medical cards be provided to the pensioners for availing free medical treatment in Government hospitals.
In connection with exposures made by Governor SP Malik regarding fake appointments made in various departments during previous PDP-BJP rule in the State, the speakers demanded that a judicial committee be framed to look into the discriminatory, illegal and unconstitutional actions taken by the BJP-PDP Government during his short span of rule.
A resolution was passed with one voice demanding a ban on private practice of doctors and teachers and immediate settlement of pension-review cases by the Accountant General office.
